KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville police say Allen Roach Jr., 32, has been indicted for second-degree murder and sale and delivery of cocaine after a 2025 death investigation.

Roach was booked into the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on Sept. 21 and has since been released on a $150,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court for a status hearing on Dec. 4.

In February 2025, officers and detectives went to the Tru Hotel on Lovell Road to investigate the suspicious death of a 23-year-old woman from Madisonville. Officials later found she died due to cocaine toxicity, and investigators identified 32-year-old Allen Roach, Jr. as the cocaine source.

In April 2025, a search warrant at his Cedarwood Avenue home led to the discovery of cocaine, mushrooms, a handgun, scales and other packaging materials. Roach was arrested that day on multiple drug charges plus possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony and maintaining a dwelling for drug use.

A Knox County grand jury later returned an indictment charging Roach with second-degree murder and sale and delivery of cocaine after continued investigation into the woman death. February motel response, April search, August indictment path, and September booking form the public timeline police released Friday for this case.

Anyone with information about similar cases can contact Knoxville police tip lines. Prosecutors have not released additional courtroom filings beyond the indictment and the December status hearing date for Roach. Local residents following the case should watch for the Dec. 4 docket update.
