WASHINGTON — Fresh midterm finance filings show Democratic Senate hopefuls flooding accounts in the July-September window, with Texas Democrat James Talarico reporting a $64 million quarter.

His team called that haul the biggest Senate total ever logged for those three months, beating Jaime Harrison $57 million South Carolina mark from 2020, and said cycle receipts now top $134 million. More than 1.3 million donors chipped in, the campaign said, with 97% of checks at $100 or under. Ken Paxton and allied committees logged about $18 million in the same span, even as Republican outside spenders poured past $175 million since Sept. 1 into ads for Paxton or against Talarico.

Elsewhere, Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff banked roughly $33 million and listed about $26 million cash on hand. Former Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown raised $28.2 million through his committees while Republican Sen. Jon Husted took in $4.8 million. Former North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper posted $19.5 million. Former Alaska Rep. Mary Peltola posted $17 million.

Hard-money edges matter late because candidate buys get preferred broadcast rates that independent committees rarely receive. Ad trackers put combined Texas airtime buys and holds above $500 million from primary through general.

Campaigns must still file early-October pre-general reports later this month and report big late gifts within 48 hours.
