KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Directors of the Tennessee Valley Authority will convene in downtown Knoxville next week for a quarterly business session that carries unusual stakes for the region’s public-power agency.

Directors are due to gavel in at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the auditorium at the Knoxville TVA office complex on West Summit Hill Drive. The agency plans to stream the session live.

Before the vote calendar, the public gets a listening window from 9 to 11 a.m. the same day at that address. Anyone who wants to speak in person or send written comments must register by noon Monday, Nov. 9, either online or by calling 865-632-8380.

On the agenda are minutes from the Aug. 20 sitting plus committee reports covering finance and rates, people and governance, audit and cybersecurity, operations and nuclear oversight, and external stakeholders.

Agency briefings say TVA is pushing roughly $13 billion in capital work through 2029 across natural gas, nuclear, storage and transmission so the system can handle sharper peaks from data centers, factories and wider electrification.

The Nov. 10 gathering may be the final one with enough seated directors to take major votes. Arthur Graham and Bobby Klein hit the end of their terms on May 18 and can remain only until the next legislative session opens Jan. 3, 2027.

If both leave, the board would drop to four members, below the five-seat quorum on a panel that is supposed to hold nine. Bylaws still let the agency keep running programs already under way, but they bar new initiatives or a change in overall direction without a quorum.

Graham has been nominated for another term and Lee Beaman has been nominated to succeed Klein, yet the Senate committee calendar still shows no confirmation hearing. Without action before the new year, January could leave TVA unable to approve major new decisions.
