Interior of a cocktail bar with floral decorations and warm lighting

News Summary

Knoxville is set to enhance its nightlife and retail scene with the opening of a cocktail bar, a karaoke venue, and a clothing store. Brooke Martin will transform her floral business into a dual cocktail bar, while The Pink Cactus karaoke bar aims to attract college students. Retail updates include Brandy Melville’s new location, which has garnered mixed reactions. Fiori Bar & Lounge is also on the horizon, promising a unique dining experience. These additions reflect the community’s desire for vibrant social hubs.

Knoxville is gearing up for exciting new additions to its nightlife and retail scene with the impending openings of a cocktail bar, a karaoke venue, and a popular clothing store. These developments are set to enhance the local community’s entertainment and shopping options.

Brooke Martin, the owner of Stem To Stem, is expanding her floral business by introducing a new cocktail bar in the front of her existing location in Happy Holler. The innovative venue will operate as a flower shop during the day and transition into a cocktail bar by night. The cocktail menu will feature botanical-themed drinks, mocktails, and whimsical offerings named after friends who have supported Martin throughout her journey. The cocktail bar is expected to have a cozy and moody atmosphere, adorned with jewel tones, velvet accents, and eclectic floral arrangements.

Martin’s background in flowers stems from her childhood spent in her grandmother’s flower shop, paired with her bartending experience, giving her the unique blend of skills necessary to succeed in this venture. Stem To Stem is projected to open in the fall, as Martin is committed to taking her time to perfect the venue’s ambiance and offerings. The space will also be available for private events and photo shoots, adding more value to the business.

In a separate initiative, the former Landing House on Sevier Avenue is being converted into a karaoke bar named The Pink Cactus by local entrepreneurs Harold Goldston, Kevin LaRoche, Jenny Salata, and Vance McCarty. The Pink Cactus will feature five private karaoke rooms upstairs, accommodating groups of up to 20 individuals. Patrons can also enjoy a full bar offering agave-based cocktails and food options, along with an outdoor area equipped with yard games for added entertainment. The entrepreneurs aim to have the venue operational by mid-August, hoping to attract college students returning to the area for the new school year.

Local interest in The Pink Cactus is notably high, fueled by nostalgic memories of the previous karaoke afterparties hosted by the former owners. The anticipation surrounding this new venue reflects the community’s desire for vibrant social hubs.

Meanwhile, retail updates are also making waves in Knoxville. Brandy Melville has opened a new store on Market Square, taking over the space previously occupied by Fruit Jar Alley. The new store features a collection of neutral-colored clothing alongside Knoxville-themed vintage athletic prints. However, public sentiment regarding Brandy Melville is mixed, with some consumers expressing concerns about the brand’s past reputation concerning unethical labor practices and issues of inclusivity. The design and interior of the Brandy Melville outlet evoke an aspirational, preppy aesthetic similar to J.Crew.

In the Old City, Fiori Bar & Lounge is set to open soon after undergoing significant renovations. The owners, Jesse and Corey Vose, draw inspiration from their extensive travels and culinary experiences to offer a unique cocktail experience. Fiori’s design features faux cherry blossom trees, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere, ideal for comfort and conversation. The food menu will include gourmet options such as Maine lobster rolls, crab cakes, baked lamb lollipops, and customizable charcuterie boards. Fiori aims to serve brunch on Sundays and hopes to hold a grand opening within a month, contingent on passing final inspections.

These new establishments represent an effort to enhance Knoxville’s social landscape, catering to both locals and visitors with diverse interests in food, drinks, and entertainment. As these ventures take shape, they promise to provide a variety of experiences for the community to enjoy.
