Vandalism Incident at Austin-East Magnet High School Shocks Knoxville Residents
Knoxville, TN – In a rather peculiar incident that occurred overnight Tuesday, a man was spotted vandalizing the entrance of Austin-East Magnet High School using a child’s scooter. The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) is now seeking the public’s help in identifying this mysterious individual, who apparently thought a scooter could serve as a substitute for traditional vandalism tools.
The Incident
According to reports gleaned from security footage, around midnight, an unidentified white male approached the front door of the school and struck it with the scooter. Luckily for the school, the suspect did not find his way inside and simply walked off in an easterly direction along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. It seems that this was more of a whimsical act than one driven by ill intent, but nonetheless, it has caused quite a stir in the community.
As Knoxville residents, we always like to come together during odd times. KPD officials have emphasized their interest in gathering more information about this unusual vandalism. They are reaching out to the public and asking anyone with knowledge or leads about the man to call East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at 865-215-7165.
