KNOXVILLE: A Brew-tiful Partnership Supports Local Agriculture
Yee-Haw Brewing Company is at it again! This time, they’re making waves by teaming up with the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA). Together, they’re brewing something special – literally! The newly announced fund focuses on supporting hops production research, and it reflects a shared commitment to boost Tennessee’s agricultural scene. Isn’t that exciting?
Hops and Harvest: A Match Made in Heaven
As we’ve all learned, collaboration makes everything better. With Yee-Haw Brewing’s generous financial backing, UTIA can dive into research that helps local farmers and industries related to natural resources. This partnership couldn’t be a better fit – it combines brewers with researchers to create a sustainable future for agriculture in Tennessee.
And speaking of brewing, Yee-Haw will be donating a portion of sales from a brand-new collaboration beer to this fund. Enter: Hopyard Pilsner! This refreshing brew is not just any ordinary pilsner; it’s crafted using hops grown right at the newly established UT Hopyard. Talk about keeping it local!
Fresh and Local: The Story Behind Hopyard Pilsner
There’s something truly magical about using fresh ingredients. Trevor Daniels, the head brewer at Yee-Haw Knoxville, describes the experience as one of a kind. “It was great working with UTIA, and getting the whole team out to the hopyard was an incredible experience,” he says. Imagine picking hops right off the vine – how cool is that?
This unique opportunity isn’t something you typically find outside places famous for hops like Michigan or the Yakima Valley in Washington. Yet, thanks to the hard work of UT students and researchers, it’s happening right here in Knoxville. “Anytime you get to brew with fresh hops within 24 hours of them being harvested is a special thing,” Daniels explains, and honestly, we can’t help but agree!
A Sip of Support
Drinking beer never tasted so good! Hopyard Pilsner is available on draft at Yee-Haw Knoxville, and here’s the best part: part of the proceeds will directly benefit the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. So, when you grab a pint, not only are you enjoying a top-notch brew, but you’re also supporting local farmers and agricultural research. What a great excuse to unwind after a long day!
Community and Commitment
This isn’t just a partnership; it’s a community effort that brings together the love of brewing and a desire to support local agriculture. As Yee-Haw Brewing continues to champion local ingredients, they demonstrate how a brewery can positively impact the community around them.
People are becoming more conscious of where their food and drink come from, and this initiative is an excellent example of how businesses can collaborate in sustainable ways. When a brewery invests in local agriculture, it can help enhance the quality of the ingredients and, ultimately, the final product. Cheers to that!
Weather to Enjoy a Brew?
As you plan your visit to Yee-Haw Knoxville for that Hopyard Pilsner, the weather is looking pretty nice! Enjoy some intervals of clouds and sunshine with a slight chance of a rain shower while you sip on your drink.
