Police searching for evidence
An investigation is currently in progress following an ATM burglary at a West Knoxville bank that took place early Monday morning. According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), the incident occurred in the early hours.
The KCSO reported that unknown suspects used a “heavy-duty” truck to break into the ATM, which was not attached to the bank building itself. During the heist, the suspects managed to steal ATM money cartridges along with cash from the machine. Authorities believe that the culprits fled the scene on foot immediately after the robbery.
Surveillance cameras captured the burglary in action, and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office is working to identify those involved. However, no further details have been made available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this crime to come forward and assist in the investigation. If you have any information, please contact the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Property Crimes Unit at 865-215-2243.
