INDIANAPOLIS — The Tennessee Titans get another shot at their first win of the season Sunday afternoon, but they have to do it on the road against an AFC South rival that has owned the matchup lately.
Tennessee (0-5) faces the Indianapolis Colts (2-3) at Lucas Oil Stadium, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. Eastern, noon Central. FOX has the regional broadcast. Indianapolis has won the last six meetings, after the Titans took five in a row from 2020 to 2022, and leads the all-time series 41-22 counting playoffs.
The Titans are coming off a 26-3 home loss to Houston in which their only points came on a 30-yard Joey Slye field goal at the end of the opening drive. Quarterback Cam Ward completed 23 of 36 passes for 170 yards in that game.
Through five weeks, Tennessee ranks last in the league in both points and total yards. Ward, in his second season, has thrown for 896 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. First-year head coach Robert Saleh hired former Giants head coach Brian Daboll as offensive coordinator to speed up the young passer’s growth, and the results have not shown up yet.
Some of the losses have been close. The Titans fell 24-20 to Philadelphia in Week 2 and rallied from a 24-7 hole against Baltimore before losing 24-18. Tennessee has not had a winning season since 2021 and is 6-33 since the start of 2024.
Indianapolis is trying to bounce back from a 34-22 loss at Pittsburgh. Quarterback Daniel Jones has 1,021 passing yards, and running back Jonathan Taylor, who led the league with 18 rushing touchdowns last season, has six scores this year.
