His death has been felt deeply among family and friends, and he is survived by his brother Ray F. Huffaker III, who resides in Knoxville, Tennessee, along with other family members.

In his youth, Huffaker attended the University of Tennessee before being drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served his country honorably. After completing his military service, he began his professional career working at the W.T. Grant Co. This initial role led him to a pivotal turning point in his career when he joined Walmart in 1985 as a co-manager in Newnan, Georgia.

His journey at Walmart was marked by rapid advancement, as he quickly moved up the ranks, managing multiple stores in the metro Atlanta area. By 1993, Huffaker had reached the position of regional vice president, necessitating a relocation to Bentonville, Arkansas, with his family. As part of the final arrangements, a gathering is scheduled to occur at Trentville Cemetery in East Knox County on June 1, 2025, at 2 p.m., with services officiated by Rev. Steve Ross.
