KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville Police Department officials are asking for help locating Cashten Brown, an 18-year-old wanted after shots were fired outside a nightclub on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, coverage confirmed this week.

According to Knoxville Police Department reports, Brown allegedly fired multiple shots at bystanders across the street from the Velvet Room in the 2500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue at approximately 3:50 a.m. Investigators also say he pointed a firearm at security guards outside the business and fired additional shots as he left the area. The shooting occurred during the early morning hours of August 30, 2026.

Despite the gunfire, authorities said no one was injured during the incident. Brown is wanted on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment and should be considered armed and dangerous. Detectives are continuing their efforts to locate Brown and urged anyone who sees him not to approach him and instead contact law enforcement immediately.
