KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The entertainment-first baseball tour that packed Knoxville stands this year is already locked for another Old City doubleheader on the 2027 calendar.
Covenant Health Park will host Banana Ball next June, with games set for the 4th and the 5th as the Texas Tailgaters meet the Indianapolis Clowns. Boyd Sports leader Chris Allen said organizers wanted a two-night return because Knoxville crowds showed they crave the high-energy format again at the Smokies’ home field.
The show mixes nonstandard baseball rules with constant crowd bits, a style that sits far from a routine minor-league night. The Clowns trace roots to Negro Leagues entertainment clubs, while the Tailgaters entered the Banana Ball Championship League during the 2025 expansion wave. The Savannah Bananas, the tour’s headline brand, are not listed for these Knoxville stops.
Local promoters pointed to earlier 2026 traffic that topped 100,000 fans across a Covenant Health Park visit and a sold-out Neyland Stadium date. That surge helped lock the June rematch. Fans chasing seats can add their names to a lottery list that shuts Oct. 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. A name on the list only enters a random drawing for a chance to buy; it is not a ticket.
Organizers framed the June slate as another chance for East Tennessee households to fill the downtown ballpark for a louder, shorter-form baseball night built around stunts and crowd play as much as hits and outs. City leaders who courted the tour last year say the rematch keeps national entertainment dollars cycling through restaurants and hotels near the stadium district in Knoxville.
