A new major construction project is on the rise in Knoxville. A student housing building named The Mark is being erected at 124 S. Concord St., adjacent to Tyson Park and nestled between Publix and Sutherland Avenues. This project aims to cater to the students of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville due to the increasing demand for student accommodation.
What To Expect From The Mark
The Mark is planned to offer 291 apartments available in a mix of studios to five bedrooms, expecting to welcome its first residents on August 15, 2025. Each unit, costing between $1,200 to $1,600 per month, will come equipped with stainless steel appliances, high-speed internet, quartz countertops, and even washers and dryers.
Furthermore, the upcoming building also promises 433 indoor parking spaces in a five-level gated garage along with unique upgrades such as an in-unit pool table.
In terms of community amenities, the residents will have access to a rooftop pool, wellness suite, cold plunge, study rooms, fitness center, media wall, and five outdoor courtyards, all spread across a 534,144 square foot area over five stories.

The developers believe that the proximity of The Mark to the University makes it an optimal housing choice for students. The nearness to the campus and potential for further development compared to other sites around Cumberland Avenue were crucial factors in its establishment.
Other Developments in Knoxville
Several other student housing projects are in the works in Knoxville. Some of these include the Union Knoxville, Verve Knoxville, Hub Knoxville, Villas Student Housing, and The Davy, all planned to be completed between summer 2025 and summer 2026.
Additionally, the University of Tennessee itself initiated construction of three new dormitories through a major public-private partnership and plans to accommodate approximately 3,000 students. Groundbreaking commenced in March.
All these complexes, whether university-owned or not, aim to offer students a variety of housing options in proximity to the university campus and different popular destinations for students.
