Character

The neighborhood is known for large lots, mature tree canopy, and architecturally significant homes ranging from 1920s Tudor and Colonial Revival estates to mid-century modern designs. Cherokee Boulevard's landscaped median hosts walkers and runners year-round, and Sequoyah Park provides riverfront recreation including a marina and greenway access.

History

Developed starting in the 1920s as one of Knoxville's first true automobile suburbs, the neighborhood was named for Sequoyah, the Cherokee scholar who invented the Cherokee syllabary.
